You were having a slow stream day just chatting for the most part, but when your childhood best friend sent you a message to join his Russian Roulette lobby, you couldn’t refuse. He said something about wanting to throw it together, and he just needed one other person, you. 

“I know that TwitchCon and VidCon are coming up soon, and I might go,” You mindlessly talked to chat. “Is that something you guys would be interested in, or am I talking out of my ass?”

Immediately, your chat of just over 500k exploded in responses. Most were encouraging you to go to both of them, practically begging you to go by saying that would be the only reason they buy tickets.

“Okay, okay, okay, guys,” You chuckled, going to your other monitor to pull up some stuff to look into later regarding tickets, hotels, and logistics. “I’ll look into it, and I’ll see if I can get a group to go.” Just as you say that, you got a discord notification from Puffer.

“Russian Roulette. Pull up.” You couldn’t help but laugh out loud for a second, causing a flood of comments to roll in.

“Guys, I think I’m about to die,” You chuckled as you sent a quick message back to Puffer.

“The game right?” It only took him a few seconds to respond.

“No shit, get on.”

“How do y’all feel about Russian Roulette right now with a really random person I’ve never actually done anything with?” You asked to no one in particular, as you were already loading the game and changing the category of your stream. “I honestly don’t care what y’all say, but it’ll be fun.”

You loaded the game on your stream and joined the discord channel that Puffer sent you. You joined the call that had Puffer and two of his friends already in it.

“Well, well, well,” Puffer said as soon as you showed up on the call. “Look who decided to show up.”

“Okay, first of all, fuck you,” You laughed as you entered the code o join his lobby. “Second of all, I was in the middle of a heart-to-heart with my chat. Trying to figure out if I go to TwitchCon or VidCon this year. Last year was ass.”

“Wait, is that who I think it is?” One of the guys on the call shouted.

“Maybe, this is the childhood friend I told you about,” Puffer said nonchalantly.

“Yeah, hi, I’m Puffer’s friend,” You introduced yourself and your stream name, waving at your camera.

“You’re not ‘just Puffer’s friend,’” The same guy mocked and you looked over where his camera was on to see his jaw dropped as he stared at the scream. “You’re like one of the biggest streamers that still streams.”

“Thank you!” You blushed, but played it off, “I’m dedicated to the grind and a paycheck.”

“Arent we all,” The other guy in the call groaned. “I’m Grizzy, by the way.”

“Wait, you know Fitz and them, too, right?” You immediately recognized that voice. “I feel like I’ve met you before.”

“Yeah,” Grizzy dragged on. “When would I have met you?”

“If you went to PAXAus or were in some of the CS:GO videos,” You started listing. “I was in a few with Smii7y, and I bullied him a lot. I was also faceless back then, and I’ve rebranded since then.”

“Wait, I do remember you!”

“No way you guys already know them. I literally watch all of their content!” The other guy complained.

“You sound like this one guy that I watch,” You spoke up as your brain finally started putting the pieces together. “I’m blanking on his name right now, but his outro song is bbno$.”

“That would be that guy,” Puffer said, leaving the floor open, but the other guy was like a fish gasping for water. “Are you gonna say anything?”

“I am in shock,” He replied in a strained tone. You looked at his video and saw that he was breathing heavily as he held his chest, but he was smiling.

“Are you good, man?” You chuckled softly just as Puffer started the lobby. “Are you gonna be good to play?”

“I, uh, I’ll be fine,” The guy stuttered out. “I just…I’ll be fine.”

“He’s starstruck,” Puffer poked. “If I knew you were gonna be this nervous around them, I would’ve asked someone else to join.”

“No, I’ll be fine, just give me a minute,” He replied, muting himself and turning his camera off for a second. 

“What was that about?” You asked to Puffer and Grizzy. “Is he always this nervous?”

“No, it’s just you,” Puffer chuckled, amused at the situation.

“Me?” You gasped, “What did I do?”

“Exist,” Grizzy said simply. “He’s had like a massive crush on you for the longest time, and you just admitted to watching his stuff, so he’s probably crashing out.”

“He’s the guy?” You questioned as your eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. “I don’t remember his name, but It’s like ED or something, right? I remember a joke about erectile dysfunction, and I was fucking dying!”

“No shot you remember that stupid joke,” The guy said as he rejoined the call just in time to hear your comment. “Can we just start the game already? I might need to my Russian Roulette IRL if we keep talking about this.”

“Wait, give me a second,” You shouted even though Puffer started the game. “It’s Droid, right? I don’t remember the E part.”

“Elastic,” Puffer coughed into his microphone.

“ElasticDroid!” You screamed, and you saw his character flinch in the game. “That’s you!?”

“Yeah,” He replied back quietly as his face grew fifty shades of red. Whether it was embarrassment or the fact that his long-time parasocial crush watched his content, he couldn’t tell you. “That’s me.”

“No way, Puffer! You should have introduced me to your friends earlier!” You complained as it was your turn to pull your trigger. Thankfully, you lived to see another round. “Actually, this would be really cool. As of about 30 minutes ago, I decided I wanted to get a group to go with me to TwitchCon and VidCon. Would y’all go with me?”

“That would be like the biggest crossover ever,” Grizzy chuckled before he shot himself in-game. “Fuck! That was my first bullet!”

“Sweet! Puffer, send my number to Droid,” You said winking at the camera as Droid’s head snapped to the side. “I’ll text him to coordinate everything.”

“You just want his number, don’t you?” Puffer voiced your plan, but you weren’t going to fold that easily.

“I’m asking you to give him my number,” You shrugged, “It’s his choice if he wants to give me his.”

You had barely finished your sentence before your phone was sounding with a notification from an unknown number. 

“Of course I want you to have my number ;)”

Mista, who bought a ring the night after your first date. Just in case.

It sounded stupid when he told Bucciarati. A little less stupid when he told Trish. But to himself—on long rides home to you, in dimly lit hotel rooms, on missions where bullets flew past his head and time felt burrowed—it made perfect sense. You were it. So he kept the ring, just in case the universe decided to be kind.

And for once, it had been. Because years later, that ring was still with him, tucked safely in the lining of his nicest coat. Still waiting, Still right. 

He had big plans, of course. He’d propose over the fanciest dinner at the fanciest restaurant with the perfect view of the city. He’d already mapped it out in his head. Your favourite flowers would be waiting at the table—The speech? He’d practised it in mirrors, in the shower, even while shooting cans behind hideouts. Well over a thousand times. 

He’d gotten Trish in on it too. She was going to whisk you away for a spa day, get your nails done, maybe even pick out that dress he secretly bought months ago—Perfectly you. A piece that he knew would make his heart stop when he saw you in it. 

But all that went out the window the moment he saw your eyes glisten on a quiet Thursday night. 

There was nothing special about the day. The sky wasn’t particularly clear, the city was far from quiet. You, you were just…tired. A soft kind of tired. Wrapped in one of his old shirts on the verandah, legs curled beneath you, the moonlight pooling in the hollow of your throat. The way you looked up at him like he had hung the stars himself had him in a chokehold. 

"You're staring," you murmured, voice like warm tea.

“Yeah.” He answered, voice caught somewhere between breathless and certainty. “I am.”

His hand brushed over the box he’d spontaneously put in his pant pocket, and something deeply twisted in his chest. Not painful, but big. Bigger than any plan. Bigger than any speech. Bigger than the weight of the ring that surely felt like it was burning a hole through his pocket and skin.

He sat beside you, the wood warm beneath you from the day’s sun. You leaned your head on his shoulder and sighed in a way that sounded angelic to his sore ears.

"You ever think we’d end up here?" you asked, half-dreamy.

"Yeah," he said again, quieter this time. "Yeah, I  did."

And when you turned your head to look at him, he knew he was done for.

The flecks of sliver caught in the reflection of your eye, the light dancing over your skin. Mista has never considered himself religious, but if there were a god, he must be his favourite. Maybe second to you. 

Fuck the speech, the restaurant. Its just you, the moon, and the way his hands shook when he held the box between you.

"Marry me," he said, like a prayer, a promise.

You blinked. Once. Twice.

And then smiled in that slow, stunned way that made his heart feel like it might fall apart entirely.

"Really?" you whispered, tears slipping down without shame.

He nodded, almost sheepish. “I was gonna wait. Do it right. But you looked at me with those big pretty eyes and I forgot how to think..”

You laughed, wet and breathless. "This is right."

And it was.

Because sometimes, the universe gives you a random Thursday night, a moon, and a chance to say yes.

I have a random idea for some sagau crack loosely based on my dynamic with my friend so Im giving it to you because I have been enjoying your sagau language stuff :D

Imagine there are two readers that are two different people. Like, not as in clones they are just two separate people that are rlly good friends on earth. They both really like genshin and play the game, and they both have self aware teyvat citizens. Reader 1 is a whale. They invest a l o t of money on the game, have all the characters, and all the characters have five star weapons. They are like the usual sagau reader you see. They have used up so much money on getting all of the characters, and I mean A L L of them, best weapons, constellations and put a lot of care into it. The place where they really get to show off is their knowledge and love for the lore, and are really invested into it and read all of the artifact descriptions and books. They know about primordial one, the four shining shades, random useless facts about items and often rant to reader 2 about their theories. Their quest bar is always empty because they did them to check out the lore of the game, and are always searching for more lore. They basically play everyday and are always reacting and talking to the characters out loud, unaware that they can hear them.

Meanwhile, Reader 2 is a f2p who is only interested in the archon quest lore and the lore of their fav characters. Because they are f2p, their options are limited so there is some blatant favoritism. They choose their fav character to save up for, and then pull for them. After they get the character they want, they will no longer pull and save up from there. Because of this, they only have like 5 five stars and only have zero five star weapon. Their favourite character is their main(*cough* wanderer *cough*), and unlike reader 1 who uses all of their characters regularly, reader 2 sticks to this character for most of their gameplay unless they need to use someone else. However, reader 2 takes almost an entire month to finish building a character, because they go overboard with the artifact stats. You would expect to normally have a 50 180 crit ratio, but reader 2’s dps characters always, and I mean ALWAYS have 50 200 crit ratio or more. Like, their main (it doesnt have to be wanderer but Im putting him here anyways) has 70 and 200 crit ratio, is crowned, full 4 pc best in slot, and is even crowned and faruzan only needs like 200 er but reader 2 gave them 300. (Im totally not putting this here because this is what I did/j) Reader 2 is also the type to never speak while gaming, so the first time they spoke everyone turned it into a national holiday to be celebrated. They also play a lot less than player 1. Player 1 plays everyday while player 2 plays for a month straight and then takes a long break to wait for the content to pile up.

So these two gremlin besties are always speaking with each other, and are always on coop. Whenever player 1 needs help making team comps or building characters, they just ask player 2 for help. And whenever player 2 needs help understanding the lore of the game, they ask player 1. But all I can think abt is the first time they cooped. Imagine player 1 was using childe and then when the coop starts, both childe and wanderer are very confused as to wtf is going on. Like, childe is confused because he sensed a strange aura coming form them like whenever someone gets controlled by reader 1, and wanderer is confused because reader 2 seemed so excited that they were talking, but its just childe? Reader 2 always skips childe’s banners.

obv the for-the-lore player picked up on it first, and by the time the trickle-down effect happened, where characters/NPCs were outright talking about these gods, the 2nd was asking the lore knower to explain lol

the 2 gods kept getting referred to by a few names, like “The Soldier and the Scholar” or “The Sage and the Warrior” or “The Keeper and the Pursuer” etc.

after awhile of comparing both of your games, you realize that some vision users/gods tend to use the soldier/warrior/pursuer titles more often when talking about one of you, and the other gets the sage/scholar/keeper more often

u both get excited, maybe its bc you chose diff travelers or some other reason, but when u try and post abt it or otherwise ask other players u get a lot of negatives/”hasnt happened for me”s??

u both just think the games glitched or some dev is playing a prank on you two maybe,

it gets weirder when u both realize the lore player be over here getting random gifts from all the characters in the mail all the time

and just as grinding players like “ :’( my favs don't like me?? but they have the best artifacts and maxed friendship levels..”

they get flooded with multiple gifts from their main characters, most of which benefit the grind tbh lmao (like a bunch of cheaper materials or crystals to level up artifacts/weapons or to ascend that character = no more slaughtering every samurai on sight for their handguards or collected a fuckton of those blue layered mushrooms for wanderer)

god u were both grateful to this glitch ngl, it saved a lot of dumb misc tasks and was just a nice touch

no but the amount of confusion inside the game from when u first started playing together, like each of ur games began with stuff abt 1 god, then as u co-oped moved onto 2 gods (like said at the beginning)

the lore player is blabbing away like you do, which begins to be heard by the other player’s game world

like it starts as whispers in battle, then all the time, then a quiet convo in the background all the time, until they can just hear u out of earshot esp word for word when they focus!! at first the vision-users/gods got all excited bc their god was speaking!! finally!!! until I'm sure they heard narration that didn't fit/it was there sometimes even when their god’s presence wasn't?/voice sounded “off” to them/didnt fit their god…??

along with sending copies of any lore books that player 2 has gotten that player 1 hasn't!

and it becomes common/tradition to exchange gifts like this to thank or appreciate the other god, like player 1 characters sending thank you gift copies of rare materials or ascension stuff that player 1 had that player 2 didn't (esp making sure to send during resinless hours lmao)

overall, 10/10, whats better than 1 god that plays one way? 2 gods that compensate for each other and now u have 2x the worshippers

(i wonder how meeting alternate versions of themselves would go, bc id like to headcanon that each of ur behavior towards them/ur unique influence has changed them a bit comparing, like they arent carbon copies anymore, not like they used to be…)

Not me deciding that I wanna figure out how does Macaques dojo work, cuz I couldnt seem to find any ideas of it on the internet lol

Okay so long long LONG rant:

Ik that in canon the whole place looks kinda-- moldy and shit and I get the lot of hc about how Macaque probably doesnt even live there since its in a very industrial outer neighborhood of Megaplois, and also it probably isnt really decorated or looks like someone is living in there at all, but I like to think that he has standards and they put like 272636373 nois cancelation seals on their bedroom so he can sleep camly when he actually can sleep (since in my hc Macaque suffers from insomnia (its a pretty common hc tho, but you get it)) and I think the outer circle of Megaplois is even tho industral and under constructuion on most parts, its probably more quiet than downtown

And I also like to imagine, Macaque even tho if not commited to a place will make it more homy. But looking at my reference pictures, in the dojo there were also a lot of posters and paintings (and in MKAGC Macaque did mention he might have a poster of wukong soooo~~)

For the layout I went after whatever felt right, since I had like 4 pictures to piece together a two-story house with a gallery(??) so its actually just me deciding what I want and where I wanna put it

Okay Okay if you couldnt tell, for some reason im really hyped about this stuff so im going to lead you trough my thougtprocess, when imagining this whole thing, in order from ground level to gallery

1. Ground level:

Ahh yes ground level: the problem child

(Im going to keep it somewhat brief here cuz I wrote a shit ton of explanations for it, but that somehow got deleted which I am super pissed about btw)

So I saw that a lot of hc with Macaques place are mostly that first floor is the dojo and the second floor is the living area, buuut~~ based on the screenshots of the series that doesnt make any sense. My reasoning? Simple really, its bc you can see the ceiling If you are standing in the dojo. This could lead to the conclusion that:

"Okay maybe then there is no second floor just a gallery in there somewhere and thats it".

Sure we can say that, but then you would ignore the fact that you cant see the front door of the building when Macaque slams Mk into a weaponstand.

"Okay then its on the other side of the room that we never got to see in the episode"

I mean maybe sure but to me from an animation point of view it just doesnt make sense, just why would they flipp the camera angle like that (I mean anyone can think whatever they want, everyones opinion is valid, its not like anyone would ever argue me on this one ((or read this whole brainrot trough in the first place lol)))

Haha anyways regardless of anything, let's go back to talking about the first floor, shall we?

Everything is pretty self explenatory: when you come in on the front door youll see a little shoe rack where you can but your shoes, and one stair to seperate the ante-room from the rest of the house

Then theres a long hall that leads to the enterence of the storageroom, the random room and the staircase that leads to the second floor

I couldnt decide on what to put in that big room-- I had no clue -- I was thinking maybe Macaque could let other people rent it for a few days of maybe theres a shop with an owner whos ranting the place from Macaque (I think thats an interasting concept, but I didnt explore any of them) oh well thats that tho

Second floor:

This was probably the easiest, since 90% of it is the dojo

But before that when you walk up to the second floor you can see a big boubel door that opens to the dojo, and a normal door that opens to the bathroom, which is strategicly placed there by yours truely. There is big brain logic behind it,, it might be inconvinient for Macaque to walk down the stairs from his bedroom trough the dojo to the bathroom (but also he can just shadow portal there--), but when ocasionally he mentors Mk, he might have to go to the bathroom while hes at Macaques place and I dont think Macaque would apritiate someone stomping trough his personal area, and thats why the bathroom is conviniently placed next to the dojo and not that far from the bathroom I know im a genius (**read everything in the bathroom part with a lot of sarcasm**)

Anyways, we couldnt even see all four of the dojos walls so that was also a 'gamble', but I went with a simple bouble door that I mentioned before and two weapon stands (yes those are weapon stands) and other than that you can see the rest of the room on the screenshots, theres also the staircase and that has some closet underneath it, but thats about it

The gallery (my personal favorit):

Looking at my reference pictures i could see that the dojo took up a lot of space almost taking up the 1/2 of the building, which I think is reasonable and kinda cool, but that means small living area which I think is even cooler (I am a huge fan of small practical spaces, they feel so so cozy)

So Yeah the living space: mostly two rooms that I also illustrated on top of this post, (you probably saw it) with a balkony thingy before the enterence of the rooms, where you can look down and see the entirety of the dojo, good for observing.

When you go in the door (actually havent decided if I want to put a door there or curtains for style but meh who knows who cares), youll enter the small but spacious kitchen. I dont see the Six Eared Macaque as a homecook, more of a fake cooking guy (only making basic foods like eggs or toast, maybe ocasionally pancake), hints there is no built in stove or owen just a portable stove, a kettle and a toaster and a small fridge that has MKs drawing (that he drew for them at the end of season 3) magneted there :]

Other than that theres a sink and an old television, he got from the randomest place ever, maybe he fished it out of the trash idk, but he put it on top of the cabinets (rarely watches anything on it)

On the baseplan you can see that there was supposed to be a small table next to the sink with a chair, but it didn't make it to the final drawing cuz let's be honest: drawing interior in correct perspective without a reference picture is just not my strongest artskill I posess, so I got pissed and put a trashcan in there, Macaque can eat in his bed

Talking about bed, let's move on to the Six Eared Macaques room:

It is very small but pretty comfortable with a small bed but a shit ton of pillows for a good nights sleep, other than that there are a nightstand that has the Lantern on it (I know it sorta got lost/destroyed after defeating LBD but I wanted to put it there) and a drawer.

The nightstand probably doesnt have a lot innit, just some nick-nacks and tissues and maybe snacks, or a book or something, the drawer stores some of his clothes, but since I like to think that Macaque is a fashion icon that wont be able to fit most of their clothes, so maybe he stores them in a pocket dimension of shadows, and only has some esentials there when he needs to get ready quickly.

And we could talk about the posters plastered around the room, but most of them are kinda self-explanatory, but there are the poster of his shadowplaly of the hero and the warrior, some drawing, a "Hang in there babygirl!" Poster with a cat on it hanging in there, a poster of the monkey king (heh), phantom of the opera poster and a-- well--- that ones for my bestie hope she'll notice it, its a spies are forever poster (really fun musical a of spies, go watch it its on youtube), and a drawing he brought( maybe)

And we are still not done, how are we feeling about that?? Huh?? (You dont have to answert, this shit took me about 2 hours to write :] )

LAST PLACE: the corner of the windows opposit the kitchen and the bedroom. Its just a chill little place with pillows and blankets, where someone can bundle up and enjoy some tea or read a book or brood, whatever the monkey prefers. The special thing about it, is that you cant access the place without knowing how to levitate, fly, jump high, or use portals, not that much of a game changer since more than half of the lmk cast could get up there, but still a bit of a barrier in my opinion

i've read translations of god of tides directly from chinese. i'm good with japanese so i went and listened to it on youtube as well and i dont understand just what rafayel being a god entails. (take this with a grain of salt bc im not a lore master and i havent consumed the entirety of the game content regarding rafayel)

1- its not hereditary, god rafayel doesn't have parents, he's born of fire.

2- there were sea gods before him, so sea gods can die and another can be born. all different people (otherwise the plot twist is going to be that rafayel was being reincarnated over and over again to be reborn as the sea god and it was him all along for a millenia before forgotten sea) -- but this sea god rafayel has also "died" (it's said in the epilogue of forgotten sea + fragrance dream 4 star he does die after turning mc human again). current rafayel is reincarnated and is a regular lemurian from what i understand. he has a mother. (maybe lemurian immortality is connected to a reincarnation cycle besides the long life span, but that's another conversation)

3- he got "possessed" by the deep sea in land of secret flames and lost his identity as "rafayel" so i believe he's got vessel status & his "will you love me no matter who i become" talk is related to this

4- the deep see maybe is like a higher entity/collective than the sea god it chooses to bear its power?

5- additionally, elder amund talks down to rafayel even in forgotten sea -- english localization does put "your quintessence" for respectful titles but really amund doesn't talk to rafayel like that in cn and jp. he full on treats rafayel like he's a random dude. why? isn't he a "god"? *his* god in particular. but we've also seen rafayel play with other kids like konche and algie. why is god being treated this normally? he doesn't even seem like royalty.

6- what even does rafayel being the last sea god entail? why? what even is this "godhood" that it comes to an end?

7- "As such, His most devout follower must gift Him a heart, so He has the strength to protect Lemuria and becomes the god recognized by the entire ocean." ----- <recognized by the entire ocean> HUH?

Does anyone else have an ick that over powers their fear ? Like, with the Magnus Archives, I dont ever skip any content unless it really forces me down. There are maybe 4 or so episodes I've never listened to despite running the full podcast through 3 times (including interviews!)

But it isnt my deeply rooted fears that break me its the stuff that is too gross to handle visualizing, like the animal violence. Its crazy I'll never know what happens to meat on the killing floor and that British man cannot make me! The moment he starts going on about collective animal anguish across the planet I am reaching, fumbling for my phone.

Which leads me to one of my favorite questions to ask other fans!

1. Do you find one of the fear categories to be the worst ? Did it change over the run of the podcast ? How do you define one fear as greater than another ?

I assumed issues dealing with mental health, feeling dirty, or the literal episodes that mimic symptoms from my disorders but it turns out I find it irrational to consider anything scarier than just striaght up being gored or burned alive. I thought the horrors of my mind were the worst, but after Mag, you can lock me up and play bad doctor any day. Just keep that cow murder shit away from me !!

I always go back and forth on if this means my fear of physical violence is greater or just more pratical? Where do you guys fall? *tw! Ive always found the mag fandom to be nothing but safe and friendly so I'll overshare a bit so you can really see the riddle here: my mental health symptoms make visual images a real danger to me so I cant ever FULLY decide if its the fear of the gore im seeing or the upsetting implications. Road kill is very common but if I can't look away from it while driving it can be enough drop me down. If you have general anxiety, imagine trying to tell yourself not to think about something because it'll upset you. Probably won't work, and if you think it is mostly visuals, that means you keep pinging the picture back to the front of your mind. For me, road kill is gross and but its also tragic and triggering because of the real and horrific murder of my own mother. For me, the fact that we are driving past something we know is dead and is left open like that just cannot be handled. As you can imagine thats no good if you are trying to keep up with functioning in real life bc it just isn't possible for society to accommodate your level of sensativity to stimulation. (which , lol, yeah thats just what it means to be mentall ill) My point is just that examining the show is really enjoyable because it lets me disect the cross points of fears safetly.

Also, I got to be a random named background character from supporting the paeron and I!!! didnt!!!! die!!! to!!!! bugs!!!!!!!!! So its a victory !!!! I can tell you which episode if want I ended up with a crazy fun random imo.

Actually, after some reflection I dont mind the spiral people who dont want you to sleep, but I'd actually firmly like the bitch who burns people until their bones melt to leave my house asap.

okay okay okay so i finally got to sit and watch the full ep (8x13) in its entirety with no distractions after watching it once split in half, and i have a few thoughts (nothing bad so don’t worry just a few notes i had written here and there while watching!!)

- while i like the fact that they gave a little focus to hen in this ep, i wish her feeling invisible would have stemmed more from something a little more realistic than people she’s known for so much of her life just seemingly forgetting her birthday out of nowhere- it felt odd that they’ve all known her and been family to her for years not remembering (although perhaps im just infusing my own philosophy on my friends’ birthdays where i intentionally set up reminders way ahead of time so i can plan something accordingly but i digress) it would have made more sense if they wanted this forgotten birthday plotline to center it more around ravi and showcase his struggles with trying to fit in with the group (also calling back to being called eddie in 8x11) and could serve as a way for him to really solidify his place as one of the mains giving him the flashy plot point of talking down archie on the bus- that being said, if they wanted the ep to be focused on hen (which i am so so so so so glad we got a henisode after so long) i feel like it should have been less about people forgetting her birthday, painting everyone else ss lowkey dicks, and more of playing on the fact thst she kinda has been pushed to the side narratively since ep 4/5 of s8 BUT i didn’t hate the plotline just thought it could have been reworked

- i already talked more at length in that 1 am ramble i went on about the set dressing of eddie’s el paso house, but i do love just how out of place eddie’s furniture looks in that house and not in a “he’s still settling in way” but genuinely in a “this stuff doesn’t belong here way” that really solidifies the run down house’s role of reflecting his relationship with his parents and texas as a whole- attempting to settle back into that dynamic but he’s a new person and he will never fit into the old dilapidated conventions he grew up in no matter how hard he tries- to me this felt a little bit more of a subtly effective move on the show rather than the blatant “oh the house is falling apart haha” funny bit in ep 12… not that that bit didn’t work for its purpose in that episode as a funny cutaway during the job interview but i feel like the symbolism of the furniture being so put of place, and also showing eddie trying to fix a cabinet while on facetime w buck- in essence “trying to fix his relationship w his family”- was a much more solid metaphorical statement of where eddie’s at in these episodes

- (this was something i wrote down the first time i watched it but i thought it was funny) does the show know texas? bc i don’t think the show knows texas…

- a single day chess tournament in a town 5 hours away with no intention of having the kids stay overnight is so funny to me they were really gonna make those kids ride a bus for 10 whole hours that day with a random chess tournament in between

- mara <3 (that’s it, that’s the note)

- i miss the athena and hen bestieism from earlier seasons and im so glad we got it back for a second this ep

- again, i already spoke at length about my thoughts on eddie’s speech to his mother snd how i thought it was much more of a gut punch to her than him yelling at her so no notes there

- my one disappointment is the way they chise to have eddie say (paraphrasing) “i’m gonna start acting like [a dad]”… i know this can be read as eddie having never thought of himself as a good father, but i feel like his emotional journey in the episode was being framed as “no- i am a good dad, and i always have been” (which is why buck told him he needed to dad-up because the only time he hadn’t been was while chris was gone) and instead that line switched the message of the arc to “i need time start acting like a dad now” which isn’t true? because eddie’s entire character up to this point has been that he ONLY views himself as a dad, and we’ve had all these interviews and conversations detailing “he needs to learn who he is aside from being chris’s dad” and we haven’t seen any of that, and that line feels to me like they’re saying “nope- all he needs to be is a dad.” and… yes, of course being a dad is VERY important to him and should not be sacrificed, but i wish the writers had made the choice to just leave it at:

chris: you’ll be my dad again?

eddie: i’ve always been your dad

rather than tacking on the “now its time for me to act like one” because then that would tell the audience “okay, yes, he’s acknowledging that he’s christopher’s dad and he always has been, but he’s accepting that the time apart has at least started a journey to finding himself as a whole” but instead it kinda…. closed that door (im NOT saying that eddie’s self identity won’t be explored in some way down the line, i just feel like this was an odd writing choice that didn’t really match what the episode was trying to convey for eddie and chris’s relationship but it was written by taylor wong so i’m not expecting masterclass level writing in any way shape or form from her 💀)

anyway, as a whole i really did enjoy the episode- 12 and 13 (and to an extent 11 but i detest that episode on fundamentally different conditions) both really felt more in line with what i loved about earlier seasons of the show and fit the kind of episode formula that made me love the show initially so it was refreshing to see that after 8a was kind of a whole lot of nothing salad and then 8b started with DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA and is about to continue the DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA that i wish would be a bit more spread out than it has been this season and last. these two episodes have been a nice treat and i absolutely hate that i wasn’t able to watch them live because of various reasons but i still enjoyed them even after the fact going in with a baseline knowledge of what happened in both of them. (and also i was VERY pleasantly surprised w the writing of ep 12 considering it was written by two LS writers who don’t know these characters- somehow they had a better understanding of them than other certain writers who have written for the main show do after years of writing for them 💀 BUT I DIGRESS)

1. probably my fantasy dr. i shouldn’t have favourite realities BUT THAT ONEEEEE bfjejwwekwkwkwkw it’s my comfort place. everything about this reality is so comforting to me. some fun fact are that we don’t have months :) like, here you look at the time passing with “4th january 2025” etc, but in my fantasy dr, we use months, years and days as in “summer 1325, day 54” and the day [number] is basically since when the year started. does this make sense? 😭 another fun fact is that i am close friends with this warlock who helps me with potions, teas, etc. he is like a funny old man. very whimsical and sassy.

2. mmmmm depends on the drs, really. if it’s fantasy related (like game of thrones / merlin) i like to script my titles. like “blood of fourteen fires” or “black widow of essos” i don’t know if its unique tho

3. mermaid dr, criminal minds, dead poets society… i have soooo many ideas and not so much time to script 😕

4. maaaaaany of my drs LOLLLL. okay so i chose my powers based on the things that will happen in that dr. for example, in my house of anubis dr i just decided to balance my powers based on the other two sides of the prophecy (if you don’t know what im talking about, basically the whole plot is about the chosen one and the people helping her) and so i decided what power to give myself based on the role i wanted to have in my dr. in my percy jackson dr i am the daughter of hecate with a dionysius legacy so i already knew what powers should i have! i try to not overpower my self too much because i know i would have regretted this in my drs LOL

feeling like. ep 60 was such a fantastic arc finale battle ep. and auugh. like so many things. LIKE .

the slow build up of tension over the ep felt really good and perfect, as it escalates from alexandrite being silly and goofy to. gargantuan cyberflesh horror. and how the dice were UNCANNILY perfect for it all. like. the nat 1 vs nat 20 roll for the town and suddenly the entire mood shifts and the stakes are so much realer, and personal. followed up by the nat 20 for the town! followed up by TWO callie crits and her dealing 130 DAMAGE like each turn!!!! like!!!!! AUGH... the. just the beats of it all was soo good and.

tying to that .. the character moments for this ep were so good !!! every character got their moment to shine in the battle. already discussed callie absolutely whomping fucking ass, but of course the smaller moments as well. offering to go and defend calders town. seeing the faewild sky and "i think i needed to leave to become worthy of it" - like and as the culmination of callies arc. from someone who was so scared and running away to. staying, standing, fighting, protecting. AND ITS GOOD.

then of course theres calder. i mean also the . ARC. of the only thing he wanted was not to be overprotected. wanting to be useful - like his brothers, people who had strength and value in the eyes of their people, big enough to defend their town. and he has come all the way here. he changes the tides of the battlefield in the town - and he does it with the attachments of his friends and the love of his family. and like... god. really crystalising his ethos in a way that is foiled so well against gowan. gowan who was too proud to ask for help. vs "i cant do it without you" "but damn does it feel good when your friends have your back" ... !!!! AYYEARGH. like. hes becoming the protector of his home! but maybe now, his home is so much bigger than the ice knife, and hes not fighting alone .... YOU KNOW.

AND SOL!!!!! sol to my knowledge only deals 30 damage this battle but. as a resident sol enjoyer i !!! am VERY MUCH CLAPPING AND CHEERING!! at the deeply supportive role he took on for this fight. like hes the first to get the ice knife away from alexandrite, he gives callie an extra smite, silvery barbs.... ! like the short rest realisation of how different the battle wouldve gone without that silvery barbs is .... ! SO ITS GOOD. and at the end that he was the one to get the final blow on alexandrite and it was for swag is ...

and! that part was obviously a joke! as is the entire "keep em guessing haha alexandrite cant predict what were doing!!!" thing. HOWEVER. relistening to the ezry arc, and their first interaction w alexandrite as we now know her ... i just. REALLY feel like this is the spiritual successor to "were duck team and were messy and were friends and we do everything together and we absolutely suck shit all day long and all night baby". theyre so fucking stupid is the thing. and theyre messy and stupid and constantly saying things that are weird and make no sense and completely and utterly baffling .... and thats DUCK TEAM!!! 4. Do you like cooking or baking more?

not to flex but im actually good at both 😏😏😏 wifey material right here (never even had a bf girl bffr) BUT i prefer baking. i make some very wonderful chocolate chip cookies that are requested fairly often by friends/family and my version of flirting is baking random things for guys i like (it has not worked even once) so definitely baking is option #1. I make a mean 'marry me' chicken though

no 😔 i moved out on my own last year and went from having 2 dogs and 3 cats to nothing. i've been wanting to get a cat but im super allergic to them and also every time i try to look at cats up for adoption in my area i start hysterically crying within the first 30 seconds bc i can't take all of them home, so I, uh...haven't really gotten past the first step required to actually obtain a pet, but hopefully the cat-distribution system will get to me soon. i do have a family of raccoons that live on my roof, but i don't think that counts <3 love them though

uhhhhhhhh.....um, uhhhhhh....see now....hmmmm.....gotta think here.....ummmmmmuhhhhhhhhhhhh

1)honestly? i am not judgemental. at least not about things most ppl are judgemental about (weird interests, mental illness, looks, kinks, different tastes/religions etc.) I judge ppl on like...if there a bad person or not. like i will sit there and hound on a person for something they did that was fucked up, but if someone comes in and is like 'yeah, lol, and they're ugly too' im like ☝️☝️ pause. bc i'm not here to do all that. hopefully that makes sense. basically a furry is safe with me but not a very normal person who makes fun of ppl for being 'cringe'. nothing is cringe around ME.

2)also, i'm super sensitive, but this is not a side of me that literally anyone knows bc im so closed off. like, i'm known for being too cold, and ppl always describe me as not having any feelings, but really i was just bullied by my family when i was super little bc i would cry so much so then i just stopped doing it around other ppl. but i have such distinct memories from my childhood of me just staring out my bedroom window during a thunderstorm and hysterically crying bc i was thinking about all the stray animals that must be so scared out there (lowkey a lump started forming in my throat when i typed this out LMAOO). I also used to cry any time i saw a tree get cut down. I have not grown out of this behavior. actually since i moved out, i cry at least once a day - about literally anything. one day i cried for three hours straight bc i couldn't find parking. i cry whenever i see a stand at the farmers market with no customers at it. i cry when i see an old man crossing the road. i literally cannot stop crying ever. oddly enough, i love this about myself.

3)i have no desire to put other ppl down! i have always been surrounded by ppl who seem obsessed with putting me down and making fun of me (family and friends alike) so i know how horrible it feels and i never try to make other ppl feel like that. even when im super jealous of someone, i actually see that as a personal issue on my part, and it actually makes me more supportive of that person (ie, seeing a girl that's prettier than me, getting jealous for a second before i come to my senses, then genuinely complimenting her). if i don't like someone, i just dont interact with them, so i don't go out of my way to throw some nasty comment their way. there is something so sinister to me about consciously trying to bring other ppl down so i don't do that (i guess this ties in with #1 so im cheating hehehehehe)

4)bonus!!!! (bc i cheated) i love my hair. it's long and grows really fast and is naturally pin straight so its very easy to work with. also there are strands that look gold in the sun <3 so i love my hair too :))) yay💜

pls note.... i have a huge advantage as i know some major spoilers, but i still had fun trying to figure out who did what and why.

i did NOT know who killed who or how many killers there are, or how many accomplices there are or who they are, i went through the red truths and thought about it.

anyways. major spoilers and theory stuff undercut.

this is the list of stuff i already know. i wasnt planning on reading umi at the time, but i was curious and ended up looking some stuff up before i started.

when reading through the tips i kinda got surprised reading the note under Rosa, it immediately made me think of Maria because of what happens in ep 4. that + her kihihihihihi laugh made me think that anyone with the kihihihihi in their tips page was probably killed by maria. i have no idea how, but because all the heads were smashed, im assuming a GUN?

Not going to pretend I know how the Shannon body thing works. Everyone else lured out by Maria or Shannon.

you may be asking, okay. how dod they get into eva & hideyoshi's room. well. i am currently working under the assumption of a hidden passageway. "BUT THE RED TRUTHS" STOP!!! Beato says there is no more than 1 hidden passage way..... but... IF THEYRE ALL CONNECTED.... perhaps that counts as one? :) I have convinced myself that there are secret passageways throughout the mansions for quick traversal. With this premise, they can simply leave Eva & hideyoshis room via the secret hatch..... and its just Maria and Shannon/Kanon, so theres nothing really threatening about them as they're children, it's wouldnt be SUPER weird for them to be invited in. or they simply came in and left from the same secret entrance.

i do not know why the servants are going along with this.

I believe either Maria or Beatrice shot Natsuhi. My brain says Beato, but the text makes me thing Maria?

I explained most of everything else in the post, but i have no idea whats up with battler.

EDIT: after chatting with oomf about why I think think the way I do about what happened, i have stumbled upon MANY ADDITIONAL SUSPICIOUS things.

1) HIDEYOSHI IS EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS.

Iirc Hideyoshi & Nanjo are the only two people to really "see" Shannon at the beginning. I believe it is simply implied that she was the same as the others, but never actually seen by Battler.

Further more, this makes the Eva & Hideyoshi locked room much more sensible. It's possible Hideyoshi killed Eva, but I don't think he really would? I think it's more likely Hideyoshi helped kill & move the other 5 adults in the shed. And later on, Sayo kills Eva & Hideyoshi? I'm not 100% sure what happened there, but I now believe Hideyoshi is extremely suspicious and in on it. I also choose to bump Maria down to accomplice instead of active killer.

2) "Maria's" involvement

Due to the above, Maria's involvement now make more sense to me, as I didn't really think she could shoot someone. However, I will also say that the kihihihi's in the tips are probably Beato's delusion of Maria. In that this is what Beato's believes Maria would want / she is pretending they are doing this together in her imagination.

3) Something I'm missing

Currently, I believe I am missing SOMETHING, and I think that something is relates to accomplices. When thinking about the other episodes, I have now started to believe that someone is chosen at random for... some reason... and that they and their family temporarily become "in on it".

I was thinking about Hideyoshi & Eva with this & working with the assumption that, along with Hideyoshi, Eva was also in on it and maybe George? But only temporary. So basically:

-someone is chosen at random(?) to be an accomplice

-that person and their family temporarily become in on it

- that family can never survive and must always die in their given episode

I don't feel like typing it all out again, so here's what I said to oomf:

"I think, for whatever reason, each episode someone is randomly chosen to become an accomplice. Idk how or why. And the accomplice that's chosen, it's like... their family temporarily becomes in on it? But they almost certainly are killed by the end.

I'd have to think more about episode 2, I don't remember it well, but.

IF this is somewhat correct...

Hideyoshi is almost certainly in on it at this point. And to that extent, Eva & George may also temporarily be "in on it". I'm not too sure about this part. Anyways. Hideyoshi & Eva are killed with stakes and George is "missing" at the end.

I don't remember the details of episode 2 very well, but Maria & Rosa were a central focus and I THINK they both died in their end?

In episode 3, you kno I'm sus of Batter and his family for the Eva-Beatrice & Hideyoshi thing. They all died.

In ep 4, Jessica and Krauss are both sus, along with others. It's not as prevalent but it is there somewhat.... Jessica's family all died as well.
